Nas - The Lost Tapes (2002) "Purple"

In 2002, my favorite rapper Nas released The Lost Tapes, a 12 track masterpiece that was recorded for his previous classics I Am and Stillmatic which did not make the final cut. I must have played this album over 100 times over the years and i still crank it like its the first time i've heard it. Below is a audio of the track "Purple", one of my favorite tracks on the album.

Kid Daytona - "Lose Your Mind"

This is a video from Kid Daytona off Jet Audio's Stand Alone Complex mixtape i was just telling you about in the post below.

Jet Audio - Stand Alone Complex

I don't know why i didn't post about this mixtape a long time ago but i really should have. NY native producer Jet Audio came out of nowhere and killed the compilation mixtape scene. With features from cats like Kid Daytona, Outasight, Harlem's Cash, Naledge, Amanda Diva, and many more! I downloaded this mixtape about 6 or 7 months ago and i still have it on heavy rotation. If you download only one mixtape from this entire blog site, make sure that this is the one!

Robin Thicke - "Sex Therapy"

As Robin Thicke gets ready to drop his newest album (working title), he hits us with his first single "Sex Therapy". This is definitely a new sound for Mr. Thicke that he absolutely conquers. Keep an eye out for his new album which is set to drop by the end of the year.

Zune Playlist 6

Hey everyone its Tuesday so that means I'm late with this post but here it is. It's time to take another look into my forever growing music collection and let you know whats been on rotation in my Zune player.

1. Ayah - 4:15
I can't remember exactly how i stumbled across this 22 year old girl out of Canada, but as you can tell by my previous post's by Ayah, i have become a HUGE fan of her's. This is an album i can listen to from start to finish without skipping a track.

2. Peter Hadar - Well Dressed For The Art Show
I was down in Atlanta with my uncle last summer and picked up Peter Hadar's album at the dopest music shop in ATL, Mood's Music. Driving back to Nashville, i popped in Well Dressed For The Art Show and left it in the whole way back. Check his myspace page and judge for yourself!

3.HISD (Hueston Independent Spit District) - Summer Sessions
When we think of hip hop in Texas, we usually think of the grills, candy paint drippin, and Dj Screw. But what about the folks out of Tx such as Erykah Badu, Amp Live of Zion i, Strange Fruit Project, and these cats, HISD. The free Downloadable album, Summer Sessions isn't your typical Texas Rap. HISD comes correct with their own style and a dose of originality to produce dope music. Enjoy Summer Sessions!

4. Ryan Leslie - Transition
After hearing Ryan Leslie's first single, "You're Not My Girl" off his recently released sophomore album Transition, i knew i was gonna dig this CD. Get a copy of this album or you're missin' out!

Thanks for the support and keep checking back for new music and news!
peace.

Ayah - "Believe"

Ayah - BELIEVE (Official Video) from Ayah on Vimeo.

Here's another joint from my girl Ayah titled "Believe" (Produced by Slakah The Beatchild) off her latest album 4:15. You remember the last cut i posted by her "In My Lifetime", right? I can't get enough of this girl right here, her 9 track masterpiece, 4:15 is a classic in my mind. Don't let this album pass you by & download the album on Amazon.com for about 9 bucks, you'll be more than happy you did!
