A trio out of Illinois who were discovered by Chi Town's own Lupe Fiasco and began doing opening acts for him. Damn i though I made it on time this week! I promise i wrote this yesterday i just forgot to publish it lol. Lets jump right into my Zune collection and check out whats been playin' on my device the past few days.

1. Quest - Distant Travels Into Soul Theory
I must admit I didn't know who Quest was until the release of his 5th & latest mixtape, Broken Headphones. Since then, I have become a huge fan of his work. Lately i have been listening to his 2nd mixtape entitled Distant Travels Into Soul Theory. A mixtape of Quest spittin' over 1970's soul cuts. Download Here

2. Rakim - The 7th Seal
Rakim finally released his long awaited 3rd solo studio album earlier this month entitled The 7th Seal. The album features artists such as Destiny Griffin, Samuel Christian, Tracey Horton, IQ, and surprisingly Maino. This album is crammed with in depth lyrics from Rakim and some of the best production I've heard rakim rhyme on. (Personal Opinion)

3. Apple Juice Kid - Miles Remixed
A mixtape that has been downloaded over 10,000 times produced by 8 time beat battle champion Apple Juice Kid has managed to get past me for quite some time now. Tough the mixtape was released nearly a year ago, by God's graces i stumbled across the download this past week. If you are a fan of the legendary Miles Davis, be sure to download this mixtape if you haven't already! Download Here

4. Pac Div - Church League Champions
I first downloaded this mixtape when it first came out and i must admit i wasn't that big of a fan. I recently took a second listen at the tape and was immediately kicking myself for underestimating these cats. Don't be like me, hopefully this is old news to many of you by now. In 2002, my favorite rapper Nas released The Lost Tapes, a 12 track masterpiece that was recorded for his previous classics I Am and Stillmatic which did not make the final cut. I must have played this album over 100 times over the years and i still crank it like its the first time i've heard it. Hey everyone its Tuesday so that means I'm late with this post but here it is. It's time to take another look into my forever growing music collection and let you know whats been on rotation in my Zune player.

1. Ayah - 4:15
I can't remember exactly how i stumbled across this 22 year old girl out of Canada, but as you can tell by my previous post's by Ayah, i have become a HUGE fan of her's. This is an album i can listen to from start to finish without skipping a track.

2. Peter Hadar - Well Dressed For The Art Show
I was down in Atlanta with my uncle last summer and picked up Peter Hadar's album at the dopest music shop in ATL, Mood's Music. Driving back to Nashville, i popped in Well Dressed For The Art Show and left it in the whole way back. Check his myspace page and judge for yourself!

3.HISD (Hueston Independent Spit District) - Summer Sessions
When we think of hip hop in Texas, we usually think of the grills, candy paint drippin, and Dj Screw. But what about the folks out of Tx such as Erykah Badu, Amp Live of Zion i, Strange Fruit Project, and these cats, HISD. The free Downloadable album, Summer Sessions isn't your typical Texas Rap. HISD comes correct with their own style and a dose of originality to produce dope music. Enjoy Summer Sessions!

4. Ryan Leslie - Transition
After hearing Ryan Leslie's first single, "You're Not My Girl" off his recently released sophomore album Transition, i knew i was gonna dig this CD. Get a copy of this album or you're missin' out!

Whats up everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. This previous week was filled with downloads. 4. Jesse Boykins III - Dopamine: My Life On My Back
I'm not sure which album of Jesse Boykins album's came first, Dopamine or The Beauty Created, either way both albums are beyond amazing. Lately JB3 has been making a name for himself by being featured on a lot of other artist's mixtapes and albums such as Mickey Factz, Kel Spencer, numerous Theophilus Londo tracks, and many more. Don't let his music pass you by!

5.Ledisi - Turn Me Loose
I was put onto Ledisi by my uncle J about two years ago when Ledisi released her album Lost & Found and i became an instant fan. Although L&f is still my favorite album by her, Turn Me Loose has plenty of dope cuts to keep you bobbin' ya head!
